Ok that does look a bit suspicious. Now that the snail is on her own, go through her (fresh!) poops for little versions of that creature, or anything that could be its eggs. It may be a parasite, but AFAIK that's not a lungworm.
It could have been one of those harmless worm-like creatures that live on tank walls and feed on old poop. Fingers crossed it was just that. You won't find anything in the fresh poops if it was.

It may be a parasite, but AFAIK that's not a lungworm. It could have been one of those harmless worm-like creatures that live on tank walls and feed on old poop. Fingers crossed it was just that. You won't find anything in the fresh poops if it was. I put her in that small exo terra breeding box so it's small and i can look trough it easily. There is a small dish and some moss in there. I really hope it isn't a parasite that could affect my other animals. The other snails seem ok. They are very active, eating. This snail also eats once and a while but then she goes back to sleep and crawls in deep. The red dot you see on that strange worm thing was something i did notice on the snail when she was asleep. I thought it was just some poop that was on it that came out while sleeping. So that's why i also keep the possibility open that it is 'just dried slime'. I studied it for a bit and it didn't move. So either it wasn't a parasite or it was dead. I also squished it and a part broke off and other bits were a bit slimy (again, maybe it's just slime?). I did a long search on lungworm and they seem to be more like a cord. A bit more round and thin. But there are soooo many out there. I do give my cats a prevention de-worming now and then. It seems kinda big to find it in poo tho. I think i'll just give her a tea bath again in a couple of days and see if it happens again. I put everything in the dishwasher that i used like that spoon on the hottest program to be sure if something lived, it will be cooked by now.

It sounds as if you are getting then hunni, it is horrid having worries about parasites so you have my sympathy but I don't think you need to worry about your kitties. When I worry about something, all sorts of things come int my head but you are right, nothing would survive a dishwasher. I hope you are a little easier in your mind now.

Well the snail didn't move all day. She did move during the night. I found her on a different spot than i left her last night. But the food was untouched. I gave her some salad with spirulina. Maybe it might help with getting energy or killing bad stuff in the snail. So as far as i can see, no strange poopings occurred yet. To be sure i washed everything that was in the dishwasher twice lol. Now it will be dead for sure.

I'm thinking about maybe getting those mites again when i have some extra money soon. I'll put a bit more of them in the tank + now they have springtails to feed on. Kind forgot that last time lol. They only had the slugmites to eat and they weren't as plenty in numbers.

Ew, there was a slug in my garage that seemed pretty sad. I took a closer look and the poor think was like infected all over with slugmites! They were in huge numbers en seriously all over. I hope the ones that were on my snails didn't come in from my garden somehow. Otherwise this will be an eternal battle.

Poor slug. Though I wouldn't think they can get in just like that, if they could they'd probably come pester my snails from the park behind my window.
Has the quarantined snail eaten?

I put her back in since i noticed that an other snail in the tank also has the mites again... She started eating right away. Maybe she didn't really like the box. I will probably need to give these hypoaspis mites an other shot and otherwise, i don't have a clue what else to do. I'll probably put loads of them in there and some springtail. I wish they were less expensive.

Poor sluggy, I would have picked her up and washed them off. Why are springtails so expensive?

I did pour some water over it but it didn't react at all. Springtails aren't but hypoaspis miles mites are. They cost about 30€ and i'm not quite wealthy at the moment. When i get my scholarship i'll buy some.

I was wondering if these hypoaspis miles mites can survive outside in the winter? I want to give it an other shot to get rid of these stupid slug mites. BUT! First of all most snails are asleep so i doubt the mites can go in and out easy. Next to that, i can't put the entire container in my terrarium or they will get overrun by 10 000 hypoaspis mites lol. Doesn't seem fun for the snails and not that attractive to have that in my house. So the left over mites would go to my mom her chickens again but i'm not sure if they will survive.

Hah! Found a site where they sell them in super small containers. It was only 3€ for a tube of 20 grams. Seems enough for a small 30 by 30 tank. I'll give it a try and see.
