Looks nice, true though that they sure don't stay that way for long!
I experimented a bit today with how to create ledges for resting under, and it went okay until my fattest and strongest fulica Halonen got interested. Somehow she made the whole thing fall down. Gladly nobody was badly hurt, unless you count everyone being painfully disappointed, including me. Darn.

Welcome back Kippen love and that does look a lovely set up. No, housework isn't their strong point is it and they soon make a mess? Oh naughty Halonen, I am glad everyone was Ok hun but I am sorry your plan did not work out. When they make a bee-line for something they just go for it, clumsy little snailies.

I finally decorated my new terrarium today. Spend around 2 hours doing so. When i placed them in they were going straight for the plants right away. I still have some wood to put in but i'm not sure yet were to place them. I also washed it of because it got all moldy in my other plastic tank. So here are the results! front view closer view trough the doors I'm kinda proud of myself for my fist terrarium set up ever

I'm posting from my new phone (my god) and can't for the life of me get this to post. I'm normally tech savvy, too. Attachments:

Work in progress... I need to put their cave in and one more plant. I wonder if it's not to empty now? I will cover the cave with some moss again because i really liked the look + prevents damage if they fall on it. I'm not sure if i will put some moss elsewhere. I really would like to have an overview this time of there whereabouts and what they are doing. It's not clear in the picture but i filled the tank with 2cm of soil and pressed it together so it's quite solid. I don't think it's deep enough for them to lay eggs. The fern you see is on a hill. So that's the spot i provided for eggs. So when looking for the eggs i will only have to take that hill apart now and then.

Haha I just finished the setup and put the snails in. The little dish with the weird dirt is temporarily, those are my hypoaspis miles mites. I didn't want to sprinkle the stuff they came with on my soil. Overall view: Close ups The cave side The hill's haha It's a bit cleaner and less forestlike than my other tank. I hope they will enjoy it as well.

I will move around some stuff in the tank next week. The lay out is nice but something is missing to me. It's kinda to empty now. So i ordered an other hiding spot for them and i will shuffle things around about so it a bit more filled up and more places to hide. The hiding spot i ordered is one that they can hang under but i can look into it to see if they are there and what they are doing. I also added a bit more moss already and will do so in the other setup. I really like the moss look and i've seen that the moss is even growing on it's own! Quite nice! It has all new green leafs.

That is the best sort of hidey spot love, one where you can see that they are not getting up to any mischief LOL!!

Hugs Jo xx Yep since the accident of having to care for about 100 baby snails i'm a bit more worried when i don't see them in the tank. I want to make sure they are not digging somewhere and providing me with more of their offsprings. I'll probably keep the cave they seem to love as well because i also like the look + it costed me 7€. I ordered one of these: They only had the XL en L in store so she ordered the M and S. It will be in next week thursday or friday.

This tank houses about 11 reticulata of varying ages and two small tigers. The latter will be getting their own space soon so that's an exciting project. I find my retics like to climb a lot more so have tried to adapt the tank for that.

That background makes a tank look so much more realistic. I really love that look.

I added some more plants (fake ones). I also created a moss corner behind the cave. Next week i get an extra hiding spot for them that i also will cover in moss. I have the feeling that the snails liked the previous tank more when it was fuller. Now they are often on the top of the tank. Maybe they will like it more this way + with an extra place to crawl in/under. I wish i could find a nice big fake food branch but no such luck so far. I did find a small one that you see in the tank. I gave up on the real wood. It always molds very fast so that's not worth the effort, money and nature cost.
