Winter has finally hit us up North, as a result the house is freezing! Tank temperatures have dropped to around 24 degrees. I've purchased a different bulb to increase the ambient air temperature. It's dimmer than the brighter, 'daytime' bulb I had in previously. I think the snails will appreciate that, though.

That looks a nice set up hunni. It is pretty cold here in Cornwall so I can imagine what it is like up north. I used to life in Staffordshire and the winters could be quite bad there. I dread to think what they are like even further up north.

That's a big tank I spend 2 hours this morning, cleaning the entire tank. It got so dirty with that many snails in there. I split the group in 2. Baby's in one of my spare plastic tanks and gave the terrarium a good wash. Now it's all shiny again. I redecorated it (again). Maybe this time i will have a better view on them and spot the eggs faster. Less moss, less full.

That looks really lovely honey but we all know it isn't going to be like that for long don't we? Snailies are not too good at housework are they LOL? As you have made such a wonderful effort and it looks so gorgeous, they may break the habit of a life time and get the hoover out Hugs Jo xx

Well it's quite well to keep with only 4 snails. The baby tanks on the other hand... 3 days and they look like i never clean them at all. I sure hope they will never ever ever surprise me with hidden eggs again.

I must admit I only have 5 big snailies now and two babies so it isn't too bad. I just wish they would stop tipping their water bowl over, it makes the substrate so wet and squeeze outs are required more often. They are so good at hiding their eggs aren't they love, I found a load yesterday?
